The upcoming school year is a big change for me! After 16 years of teaching 5th grade, I have moved to 3rd! I am very excited about the opportunity and look forward to us learning and growing together. I will be teaching language arts and social studies to my student and Mrs. Jessica Cook's, and Mrs. Cook will be teaching math and science to both classes.
In addition to teaching 5th grade, I taught French for six years at Lumpkin County Elementary School, and I am very excited to be able to offer a world language concentration to our students. I will be working closely with my new neighbor, Mrs. Jessica Cook, who is a veteran 3rd grade teacher.
Here's a little more about me. My husband and I have two daughters. Our oldest is a 2016 graduate of UCHS and will be attending Oglethorpe University in Atlanta in the fall. Our youngest just finished her 9th grade year at UCHS. We have a cat and a dog. As a family, we love to travel and spend time at the lake. I personally love to read and scrapbook too.
I'd love to get to know you better before school begins. Feel free to email me at hdyer@ucschools.org. I can't wait to meet you and work together!
P.S. The blog is a work in progress, so come back later in the summer to see more.
